Buttermilk Biscuits

 
 

2 C. whole wheat flour

1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 C. butter
1 C. buttermilk
 

Use finely ground whole wheat flour and stir well to lighten.  Mix together flour, salt and soda.

Cut in butter and add buttermilk.  Mix well but do not over mix.  Pat into 3/4 " thickness on floured surface.

Cut biscuits and if you wish, dip in melted  butter. 

Bake at 450 for 15 - 20 minutes.
